I'm busy. Are you busy?
Sounds about right.

We're all so busy, that we can't even take five minutes out of our hectic days to send a letter, an email, a text, or heaven forbid...make a phone call.
It's the same thing everyday.
Wake up and brush your funky teeth. Do your daily tasks. Cook your usual meals. Kiss your loved ones. Lay in bed with a heavy sigh. Finally go to sleep. Only to begin all over again in several hours.

Wanna go see a movie? Can't. I've got these chores to do......
Wanna go out to eat? Can't. I just finiahed cooking for these kids....
Lets go have a quick drink somewhere. Can't. I don't have a babysitter tonight.
How about you come over and hang out tonight? Can't. No vehicle. No money. Kids are napping. I'm napping.
Excuses. It's supposed to be understood that life does get hectic at times. But are you really so damn busy that you can't spare a few minutes for your friends? or you don't mind making the people in your life feel invisible?

When did we all become so busy that we don't even have time for friendships?
When did we decide to check out of other peoples life's?
When did we stop sharing our day with someone besides our family?

You've got kids? And? You act like your kids are the plague. They're not. They are welcome 'round these parts. Take those noisy bastards with you wherever you go. Wait-during nap time, instead of making sure your friends still feel loved, you'd rather get on the internet and be a zombie for an hour? Cool. I bet you feel so smart and so rested afterwards. Cause the internets always fills you full of important information.
I get it. You're in love. You wait all day to talk to him, to see him, and now that he's finally home, you have no need for anyone in the outside world? Makes complete sense to me. Cause hell, all those friends you ignore while your man is home, they'll just sit and continue to wait. And wait. And wait. For you. To remember their phone number and decide to grace them with attention. I'm sure they'll still be there when you need them.

You've been there when they needed you.....haven't you?

What's important to you? Prove it.
